A founder’s wealth and a family business outgrow the company accounts team and the family CA long before anyone sets up something better. This practice does two things for founders and business families: it sets up and runs a family office, and it plans succession, so the next generation inherits a working company and a clear structure rather than a dispute.
The work is structuring, governance, documentation and reporting. CapEasy is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser and does not recommend investments; the family and any registered adviser it appoints make those calls, and our structure and reporting are built around their decisions. Wills, trust deeds and family settlements are finalised with a practising advocate.
Competitors describe this work in adjectives. Here are the contents.
| What you get | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Family wealth map | Every company, shareholding, property, account and investment the family holds, who owns each one today, and what happens to each if nothing is done. |
| Family office structure | The vehicle compared and chosen: an in-house team, a private limited company or LLP, a private trust, or a Family Investment Fund in GIFT IFSC, with the tax, control and compliance trade-offs written down. |
| Governance | A family office charter (who decides what, approval limits, conflicts) and, where the family wants one, a family constitution covering roles in the business, entry of the next generation and how disputes are settled. |
| Succession plan | Ownership and management planned together: wills, private family trusts, holding-company structures, lifetime gifts and share transfers, with stamp duty and tax on a later sale mapped for each route. |
| Documents | Wills, trust deeds, family settlements, shareholder agreements and Articles amendments, finalised with a practising advocate, and the filings each company needs for the share transfers. |
| Consolidated reporting and compliance | Quarterly reporting across every family entity and account in one view, and one calendar for every return and filing the family owes. |
No. CapEasy is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser and does not recommend securities, funds or alternate investments. We structure, document and report; investment decisions stay with the family and any registered adviser it appoints.
No. Estate duty was abolished in 1985, and gifts between relatives are not taxed as income. The costs to plan for are stamp duty, tax on a later sale of inherited assets, and the cost of a contested estate.
Yes. We sign a confidentiality undertaking before discovery, and family information is shared only with the people the founder names.
After the first consultation you receive a written scope, and the fee follows it. We do not publish prices, because every family’s structure is different.
