What is the Make in India (MII) Certificate?

The Make in India (MII) Certificate for GeM is a government-backed certification designed to promote domestic manufacturing in India by giving priority to locally manufactured goods and services in government procurement.

Classification of Local Suppliers Under MII (As per DPIPT Guidelines)

• Gets the highest priority in government procurement.

2. Class-II Local Supplier

• A business is classified as Class-II if its local content is between 20% and 50%.
• Given preference after Class-I suppliers in government contracts.

3. Non-Local Supplier

• If an enterprise has less than 20% local content, it is classified as a Non-Local Supplier.
• Not eligible for government procurement preference under the MII initiative.

1. Purchase Bills – Bills for machinery, tools, and critical equipment used in the manufacturing process.
2. Company Letterhead – Official company letterhead for documentation and communication purposes.
3. Component Details – List of materials and components used in the product.
4. Manufacturing Capacity Report – Details of monthly production capacity.
5. GSTIN Certificate – Proof of business registration and GST compliance.
6. GeM OEM Certificate – Required if the applicant is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
7. Supplier Purchase Bills – Bills for materials and components sourced from suppliers.
8. Manufacturing Floor Diagram – Layout of manufacturing facility and equipment.
