About this programme
MV-PROTO is Maker Village's flagship incubation programme supporting IP and product-based ESDM (electronics system design and manufacturing) hardware startups through the product development and validation journey. The programme provides upfront cash funding combined with holistic incubation support including co-working infrastructure, mentorship from industry experts, access to fabrication facilities, and networking opportunities. Participants receive support from ideation through prototype development to technology/product validation.

How it works
MV-PROTO provides upfront cash of ₹5 lakhs (or ₹2.5 lakhs for virtual incubation) to support product development and validation. The programme offers holistic incubation support including dedicated office space, computing and communication facilities, access to electronics and instrumentation labs, metal machining equipment, industrial 3D printing, and an industrial SMT line. Startups receive mentorship from experienced consultants and industry leaders, business planning support, focused training courses on product development and validation, IT infrastructure support, and networking connections. Optional EIR (Entrepreneur-in-Residence) monthly support of ₹30,000 is available for the first 6 months.
Who can apply
IP and product-based hardware startups in electronics system design and manufacturing with clear market or user validation. Eligible applicants include direct applicants, MV-IDEA graduates, or any grant award winners. Registered entity required (per Companies Act 2013). Must demonstrate high growth potential with social or strategic impact. Strong potential for collaboration with IIITMK faculty.
